Alterity Collectors Union – ACU Tattoo is an elite tattoo studio located in Wylie, Texas, offering a radically different experience in body art. Rooted in the word alterity, meaning “otherness” or “radically different,” our studio is designed for collectors—those seeking more than a tattoo, but a journey of expression, connection, and intention.
We specialize in all custom work. Our process is centered on building relationships with our clients—treating every piece as an artistic collaboration. Whether it’s a multi-session large-scale project or a walk-in design, we approach every tattoo with the same care, artistry, and attention to detail.
Founded by third-generation tattoo artist and multidisciplinary creator CR, and now home to emerging artist Jasmine, ACU Tattoo is a space where tradition, innovation, and artistic mastery converge. We invite you to join us in redefining what tattooing can be.

Start with a Free Consultation
At ACU Tattoo, we believe every tattoo starts with a conversation. That’s why we offer free consultations every Wednesday. This is your opportunity to meet with an artist, share your vision, and begin the process of bringing your idea to life.
Our consultations help us align with you fully—from sizing and placement to design and scheduling. Many of our collectors have thought about their tattoo ideas for years; we honor that commitment by making sure the process feels intentional, collaborative, and deeply personal.
Here’s what to expect:
- You’ll meet your artist in person
- We’ll discuss your vision, ideas, and references
- You’ll receive an estimated cost and timeline
- We’ll schedule your session and collect a deposit
- You’ll leave feeling informed, confident, and excited to start
Walk-ins are always welcome, Wednesdays are reserved for consults and walk-ins, and best suited for tattoos estimated by the artist to take 2 hours or less. 90% of our work is by appointment—because we don’t rush the process, and we don’t rush your experience.

Clynt Costley. Creator. Mentor.
Clynt is not just a tattoo artist—he’s a multidimensional creator. A third-generation tattooer with over two decades of professional experience, Clynt specializes in realism, neo-traditional, and large-scale custom work. He leads ACU Tattoo with a strong dedication to the collector’s experience, mentoring apprentices, and crafting tattoos that resonate on a personal and artistic level. Beyond tattooing, CR is a published illustrator, poet, and children’s book author, with a deep portfolio of mixed media works and murals across Dallas and East Texas. As a filmmaker, songwriter, and visionary, CR brings the full depth of his creative mastery to every session.

Jasmine. Artist. Heir to the Craft. Grounded in Legacy.
Jasmine is ACU’s newest resident artist and the daughter of owner and mentor, Clynt. Growing up immersed in the world of tattooing and creativity, she carries the legacy of her lineage while forging her own distinctive style. With a focus on traditional, fine line, and script tattoos, Jasmine brings intention, precision, and heart to every piece. Her approach is rooted in respect for the craft, commitment to the process, and a deep understanding of what it means to create lasting, meaningful body art.
Rate: $150/hr
