Alterity Collectors Union – ACU Tattoo is an international body art experience. Founded by third-generation, award winning tattoo artist and multidisciplinary creator CR Costley, ACU Tattoo is an experience where tradition, innovation, and artistic mastery converge. As a proud pioneer of the elevated standards movement that has rapidly begun taking our craft by storm, cross-contamination prevention and hygienics remains of top priority.
We specialize in all customer care and maintain the skill necessary to customize any ideas into a long lasting pice of body art. Our process is centered on building relationships with our collectors—treating every piece as an artistic collaboration. Whether it’s a multi-session large-scale project or a walk-in design, we approach every tattoo with the same care, artistry, and attention to detail.
As a 26 year veteran of body art, CR Costley gladly accommodates all styles including, but not limited to, Neo-traditional, American Traditional, Japanese Traditional, Minimalism, Fine Line, Blackwork, Tribal, Trash Polka, Geometric, Mechanical, Realism, Portraits, Add-to’s, Redos & Cover Ups. At ACU Tattoo, we believe every tattoo starts with a conversation. That’s why we offer complementary consultation appointments. This is your opportunity to meet with the artist, share your vision, and begin the process of bringing your idea to life.
Our consultations help us align with you and your vision—from sizing and placement to design and scheduling. Many of our collectors have thought about their tattoo ideas for years; we honor that commitment by making sure the process feels intentional, collaborative, and deeply personal.
Here’s what to expect:
- You’ll meet your artist in person
- We’ll discuss your vision, ideas, and references
- You’ll receive an estimated cost and timeline
- We’ll schedule your session and collect a deposit
- You’ll leave feeling informed, confident, and excited to start
Walk-ins are always welcome, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are reserved for consults and walk-ins, though we are happy to schedule them at other times as well. 90% OF OUR WORK IS DONE BY APPOINTMENT—because we don’t rush the process, and we don’t rush your experience.

Clynt is not just a tattoo artist—he’s a multidimensional creator. A third-generation tattooer with over two decades of professional experience, Clynt specializes in realism, neo-traditional, and large-scale custom work. He leads ACU Tattoo with a strong dedication to the collector’s experience, mentoring apprentices, and crafting tattoos that resonate on a personal and artistic level. Beyond tattooing, CR is a published illustrator, poet, and children’s book author, with a deep portfolio of mixed media works and murals across Dallas and East Texas. As a filmmaker, songwriter, and visionary, CR brings the full depth of his creative mastery to every session.
